Strand7 Pty Ltd is a unique Australian company dedicated to the research,
development and commercialisation of FEA software and the provision of
advanced engineering consulting services. Our flagship product, the
Strand7 FEA system is used by thousands of engineers around the world
in a variety of disciplines: the software is developed by us in our
Sydney office and is marketed in Australia and internationally. Although we often advertise specific positions, due to the continuing success of Strand7 we are always on the lookout for outstanding engineers and software developers to join the team. Engineers Our team of engineers works in consultation with the software development team, to liaise with, and provide FEA consulting and support services to our clients. Ideal candidates will have an honours degree in mechanical, civil/structural or aeronautical engineering. In addition, they will be able to demonstrate a strong interest in engineering analysis and/or design, preferably with a track record of involvement in FEA and/or CAD. Software Developers The Strand7 software development team is involved in two major areas: pre/post processing and solver technology development. In both areas, the ideal candidates will have a double degree in computer science and engineering and a desire to pursue a career in the development of advanced engineering software. For a role in solver development a PhD in the FEM together with excellent FORTRAN or C programming skills are essential. For a role in pre/post processor development, demonstrated abilities in the development of graphical and interactive software, with a strong emphasis on numerical methods, are required. Proficiency in one or more of C, C++ and Delphi plus knowledge of CAD and graphics programming are a definite advantage. For any role at Strand7, other essential requirements include: strong analytical skills, excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
