Strand7 Software: In Detail: Solvers: Quasi Static
Strand7 quasi static solver
The Quasi Static Solver has attributes of both the Nonlinear Static Solver and the Nonlinear Transient Dynamic Solver. Like the Nonlinear Static Solver the Quasi Static Solver calculates the static equilibrium of the system while all dynamic effects are ignored. Unlike the Nonlinear Static Solver, the Quasi Static Solver can also consider nonlinearity due to material creep and does not use increments to define the load history. The load history is defined via Factor Vs Time tables assigned to the selected load cases, just like the Nonlinear Transient Dynamic Solver.
In addition to nonlinearity due to creep, the Quasi Static Solver also considers geometric, material and boundary nonlinearity. The solution procedure adopted by the quasi static solver is identical to the procedure used by the nonlinear static solver. |
