Detect: Beam Ends

Description

Identifies and highlights ends of beam elements that are not connected to other elements according to rules set under View Settings: Free Edge Tab.

Once set, the function remains active to dynamically highlight beam ends as the model is changed. To stop highlighting beam ends, deactivate the function.

Dialog

A number of selection options may be applied upon activating the function.

Select free ends

If set, identified beam free ends are selected. Cannot be set in conjunction with Select whole element.

Select whole element

If set, beams with identified free ends are selected. Cannot be set in conjunction with Select free ends.

Select nodes on free ends

If set, nodes on identified beam free ends are selected. Cannot be set in conjunction with Select nodes on element.

Select nodes on element

If set, nodes on both ends of beams with identified free ends are selected. Cannot be set in conjunction with Select nodes on free ends.

Right-click functions

Right-click the Detect/Beam End icon to open View Settings: Free Edge Tab.
