Insert: Master-Slave Link
Description
Inserts a master-slave link between two nodes.
A master-slave link enforces the condition that the displacements and/or rotations (i.e., degrees of freedom) at one node equal the corresponding displacements and/or rotations at the other node. This condition is formulated in the selected UCS and takes the form where is the degree of freedom with reference to the UCS, and and are the nodes.
Connectivity
The connectivity of the link is defined by clicking two points in the model window. Points may be nodes, grid points or vertices. A new node is automatically inserted when a grid point or vertex is clicked.
Dialog
Degrees of Freedom
Degrees of freedom constrained by the link.
If Negate is set, the respective node displacements/rotations will have the same magnitude but opposite signs.
Coordinate System
Coordinate system (UCS) in which the constrained degrees of freedom are defined.
Link group
The group to which the inserted link is added. See Target group.
