Import: STAAD-Pro File

Description

Imports a STAAD-Pro file with file extension of .std.

Dialog

Name

Opens the file dialog to locate and select the STAAD-Pro file to be imported. Note that files can also be imported by using drag-and-drop directly onto the Straus7 model window or startup screen (see Straus7 Interface: Startup Screen).

Default Country Type

The default country type of standard beam sections to be matched against sections used in the imported file.

If the country type identifier is not present in the imported file, the default country type is used in the matching process.

Allows for the selection of any (or all) of the Straus7 beam section libraries to include them in the matching process if no suitable matches are found between sections used in the imported file and the section database of the default country type.

Strip leading underscore from group names

If set, removes the leading underscore from group names. For example, _group1 becomes group1.

Remove spaces from section names

If set, spaces in section names are removed. For example, IPE 100 becomes IPE100.

Strip qualifiers from load case strings

Qualifiers such as LOADTYPE, SELFWEIGHT, TITLE, etc., are removed from the load case names.

Default Length Unit

The length unit used in the imported file.

Default Force Unit

The force unit used in the imported file.

The imported file is converted to the current units of the Straus7 model based on the default length and force units selected.
