Transient analysis is analysis through time. There are four transient solvers in Strand7:
Linear Transient Dynamic
Nonlinear Transient Dynamic
Quasi Static
Transient Heat
This document outlines how to determine an appropriate time step for solution accuracy for the linear and nonlinear transient dynamic solvers. The other two solvers have different requirements but are generally not as sensitive to time stepping as the dynamic solvers, which must consider structural vibration.
