ST7-1.40.70.16 Motorcycle Engine Vibration Analysis
Vibration is an unwanted side effect of reciprocating mass common to most discrete cycle machines, including internal combustion engines. In the case of a conventional piston engine, the reciprocating mass of the piston, connecting rod (conrod), wrist pin (gudgeon pin) and a little oil, all contribute to vibration. Designs are tailored to minimise vibrations as much as possible for a variety of reasons, of which the most important are user comfort and machine life.
