ST7-1.50.60.8 Using Links to Model Rigid Diaphragms
Certain structural members can be modelled as having infinite in-plane stiffness, and zero out-of-plane stiffness. This is typically done in the analysis of buildings, in which the floors are assumed to act in this way during seismic events. To achieve this, Strand7 provides a special type of planar rigid link cluster, in which the plane with infinite stiffness is specified by the user.
