ST7-R3.50.20.6 Extrusion Meshing in Multiple Directions
Some solid parts can be made from multiple extruded parts connected together. In these cases it may be preferable to create an extruded Hexa8 or Hexa20 mesh instead of a Tet10 automesh, because the number of nodes for a given accuracy may be greatly reduced when using hexahedral (extruded) brick elements.
