Material Nonlinearity: Yield Criteria

Description

Nonlinear material behaviour is much more complex than linear behaviour, particularly in multi-axial stress situations. Typically, nonlinear material behaviour is described based on the generalisation of one-dimensional concepts and the introduction of assumptions such as the definition of equivalent stresses. Yield criteria serve the purpose of determining how the specified nonlinear material table (e.g., a uniaxial stress-strain curve) should be interpreted in a multi-axial stress state.
