Beam Attributes: Stiffness/Mass Factor

Description

Assigns stiffness and mass scaling factors to selected beam elements.

These factors scale the stiffness and/or mass of an element, without modifying the property set.

Not applicable to nonlinear material beams.

Beam stiffness and mass factor attributes are independent of load and freedom cases.

Factors

• Shear 1

  Factor that scales the shear stiffness in the principal 1 direction (Shear A1).

• Shear 2

  Factor that scales the shear stiffness in the principal 2 direction (Shear A2).

• Axial

  Factor that scales the axial stiffness (section area).

• Bending 1

  Factor that scales the bending stiffness in plane 1 (I22).

• Bending 2

  Factor that scales the bending stiffness in plane 2 (I11).

• Torsion

  Factor that scales the torsion stiffness (J).

• Mass

  Factor that scales the mass density.
