Align Tools: Beam Axes to Plate
Description
Aligns local or principal axes of selected beam elements with the normals of connected plate elements.
An average normal direction is used on edges that are shared by multiple plates.
Dialog
Axis
Beam axis to be aligned.
The axis can be one of the local (x,y) or principal (1,2) axes.
Dir
The direction of the aligned beam axis with respect to the average direction of the normal +z axis of connected plate elements.
- + aligns the beam axis to the +z plate direction.
- – aligns the beam axis to the -z plate direction.
