Geometry Tools: Face from Plate

Description

Converts selected plates to geometry faces.

Dialog

Node Attributes to Vertices

If set, certain node attributes such as restraints and point forces are copied to the vertices for subsequent automeshing.

Plate Attributes to Faces

If set, certain plate attributes such as normal pressure are copied to the faces for subsequent automeshing.

Curved Plate Edges

Defines how curved plate element edges faces are mapped to curved face edges. Applies to high-order elements that use quadratic shape functions (i.e., Tri6, Quad8 and Quad9).

• Circular Face Edges

  Curved plate edges are mapped to circular face edges by fitting a circle through the three nodes of the plate.

  Circular edges will be only be created if the converted face is a plane or cylinder type surface.

• Quadratic Face Edges

  Curved plate edges are mapped to quadratic face edges.

Delete plates

Deletes the plate elements used to generate the faces.
