Node Attributes: Response Variable
Description
Assigns response variables to selected nodes.
Node response variables are used to determine the influence that a node force or moment applied anywhere in the mesh has on the selected quantity at the node. These quantities can be displacements (at free nodes) or reactions (at fixed nodes) in one or more degrees of freedom.
Response variable attributes are load case dependent and are used only by the Load Influence solver.
Dialog
Type
The response quantity.
This can be a displacement or a reaction force/moment.
Coordinate System
The coordinate system (UCS) in which the response variable quantity is defined.
The response variable remains associated with the UCS in which it is defined. Subsequent changes to the UCS will change the direction of the response variable.
DoF
The response variable component for the selected quantity and axis system.
Label
Assigns a label to the response variable.
This label will appear in the result case name when inspecting the results. It is also used when generating new load cases using the load influence combination function.
