Plate Attributes: Edge Transverse Shear Stress

Description

Assigns transverse shear stress to selected edges of plate elements.

The shear stress acts on the edge, in the direction of the local z axis of the plate. A positive shear stress acts in the +z direction and a negative pressure acts in the -z direction.

The magnitude of the resultant force is equal to shear stress × edge length × membrane (or equivalent) thickness.

Shear stress attributes are load case dependent.
