Export: NASTRAN File

Description

Exports finite element data of a Straus7 model to Nastran format.

Dialog

Name

Opens the file dialog to specify the location and name of the file to be exported.

Solver

Sets the solver parameters in the exporting Nastran file to one of the following Nastran solvers:

Linear Static (SOL 101)
Natural Frequency (SOL 103)
Linear Buckling (SOL 105)
Nonlinear Static (SOL 106)

Straus7 solver parameters are not exported to the Nastran file.

Mode

Sets the number of modes to solve. This setting is available for Natural Frequency (SOL 103) and Linear Buckling (SOL 105) only.

Units

Units system of the exported Nastran file.

Cases

Node Restraints

Specifies the freedom case from which node restraints are exported. This selection is not required if Nonlinear Static (SOL 106) is selected.

Non-structural Mass

Specifies the load case from which non-structural mass attributes are exported. This selection is only available if the check box is set.

Reference Temperature

Specifies the load case from which temperature attributes are exported as a reference temperature case. This selection is not required if Nonlinear Static (SOL 106) is selected.

Point Contact Pre-Load

Specifies the load case from which pre-load attributes are exported for point contact elements. This selection is only required if Nonlinear Static (SOL 106) is selected.

Beams

Section Geometry

Specifies how Straus7 beam sections are exported. See NASTRAN File: Conventions.

Export Geometry/Properties

If set, beam element section geometry along with section properties are exported using PBARL and PBEAML.
Export Properties Only

If set, only section properties are exported using PBAR and PBEAM.

Beam Stress Sections

Specifies the number of cross sections along a beam element for stress calculation. Up to 10 sections are allowed.

Nonlinear

NINC (Divisions per increment)

The number of equal subdivisions of the load change per increment for the Nonlinear Static (SOL 106) solver.

MAXITER (Iteration Limit)

The maximum number of iterations allowed per load increment for the Nonlinear Static (SOL 106) solver.

Convergence Criteria

EPSU (Displacement)

Convergence tolerance for displacement U criterion. This criterion is only included if checked.
EPSP (Force)

Convergence tolerance for force P criterion. This criterion is only included if checked.
EPSW (Work)

Convergence tolerance for work W criterion. This criterion is only included if checked.

Options on how Pyra5 and Pyra13 elements are exported.

Options on how Quad4 elements are exported.

Export Heat Transfer Data

If set, heat transfer data is exported.

Export Unused Properties

If set, unused properties (i.e., properties not used by any elements) are exported.

Zero Fields

Small non-zero value exported for specific fields in the Nastran file that are not allowed to be zero.
