File Formats: BXS File

Description

The user-defined/custom beam cross section file uses the .BXS file extension. This file contains the full set of section properties including shear centre offsets, area, second moments of area, etc., required for structural analysis. The BXS file also contains the source mesh data used to create the BXS file. This mesh can be extracted via the Mesh option of the Properties: Beam Cross Section Shape dialog.

The BXS file can be assigned to a beam property using Properties: Import/Export Beam Sections. To make a user-defined/custom beam cross section file, open Utility: Make BXS.
