Beam Attributes: Connection UCS

Description

Assigns a coordinate system (UCS) to selected ends of connection type beam elements.

The coordinate system determines the directions of the six stiffness components of connection type beam elements. Different coordinate systems can be assigned to each end of a beam.

If the connection UCS attribute is not assigned, the beam's principal axis system is used to define the stiffness directions, as long as the element is not of zero length.

If the element is zero length, and the connection UCS attribute is not assigned, the global XYZ Cartesian coordinate system is used to define the stiffness directions.

Connection UCS attributes are independent of load and freedom cases.
