Brick Attributes: Response Variable

Description

Assigns response variables to selected brick elements.

Brick response variables are used to determine the influence that a node force or moment applied anywhere in the mesh has on the selected quantity on the brick. These quantities are stress components defined in the brick's local axis system or in a coordinate system (UCS).

Response variable attributes are load case dependent and are used only by the Load Influence solver.

Axis System

The coordinate system (UCS) in which the response variable components are defined.

If Local is selected, the components are defined in terms of the brick's local axis system.

Components

The response variable components for the selected axis system.

Label

Assigns a label to the response variable.  

This label will appear in the result case name when inspecting the results. It is also used when generating new load cases using the load influence combination function.
