Brick Cutting Planes: Values Tab

Description

Shows the values used for the integrals calculations. Integrals must be generated under Brick Cutting Planes: Integrals Tab before the values become available here.

Similarly to The LISTINGS Tab, the Values tab is separated into two panes that list all available cutting planes on the left and the values in a grid on the right.

Dialog

LIST

If set to Single plane, shows only values from one cutting plane on the grid at a time.

If set to Multiple planes, multiple cutting planes can be selected to show in the grid at the same time. Shift+Click to select or unselect a range of planes. Data for each cutting plane is stacked and separated by a thick line.

Export grid contents to file

Writes the grid data including all Fixed Cells such as headers to a text file.

Right-click Functions

Right-clicking the grid area opens a popup menu and provides additional functions. See Strand7 Interface: Right-click Functions.

Columns

Plane / Result Case

Identifier number of the cutting plane, the result case identifier number and name from which the cutting plane results are extracted.

Point (X / Y / Z)

Lists point identifiers and their respective coordinates in the global Cartesian system.

The points define the cutting plane intersection points of individual brick elements.

u (1) / v (2)

The local u, v coordinates of the intersection points on the plane, with reference to the origin of the bounding box of the plane.

S1 / S2 / S3

Brick element stresses expressed in first, second and third axis of the cutting plane. S1 and S2 are shear stresses on the plane, whereas S3 is a direct stress normal to the plane.

Factor

The contribution factor to the integral results of individual points on the brick element intersections .

If the cutting plane cuts through the middle of a single element, the contribution factor of that element is 1.0. If the cutting plane is slicing through a face that is shared by two brick elements, then the contribution factor of each of those elements is 0.5. The contribution factor can either be 1.0 or 0.5.

Brick

The identifier of the brick element that intersects the cutting plane from which the points and results are extracted.
