Utility: Tapers

Description

Calculates section properties at specific positions along the axis of individual tapered beams.

When a beam element is assigned a taper attribute, section properties are required at a number of positions along the element before the solvers can be executed. These properties are used in place of the section properties calculated for each section type as defined in the beam property set (Common Properties: Sections).

Properties for tapered beams are calculated as the solver is launched unless they have been pre-calculated via this utility. Once calculated, whether by this utility or at solver launch, tapered beam properties are stored with the model so they do not need to be calculated again unless the taper ratio is changed.
