Adjust Tools: Relocate Mid-side Nodes

Description

Repositions mid-side nodes of selected quadratic plate and brick elements to a point halfway between the corner nodes.

For Quad9 plates the position of the ninth node is also adjusted.

Method used to adjust the location of mid-side nodes.

• Curved

  Adjusts mid-side node in a two-step process: firstly a circle is fitted through the three points on the edge; secondly the mid-side node is relocated to half-way between the corner nodes, whilst keeping all three nodes on the circle.

• Straight

  Adjusts the mid-side node to the straight line average between the corner nodes.
