Align Tools: Plate Offset by Thickness

Description

By default, the nodes on plate elements in Straus7 are attached to the mid-plane surface of the plate. This tool automatically assigns plate offset attributes to selected plate elements such that the nodes coincide with the mid-plane, +z or -z surfaces.

Dialog

Offset plates to

• Mid Plane

  Effectively removes the offset attribute, if currently assigned, and the mid-plane of the plate now coincides with the plate nodes (i.e., the default condition).

• +z

  Offsets the plate such that the +z surface coincides with the plate nodes.

• -z

  Offsets the plate such that the -z surface coincides with the plate nodes.
