Brick Attributes: Face Shear Stress

Description

Assigns uniform shear stress to selected faces of brick elements using two orthogonal components in the local x-y axis system of the face.

The convention for the orientation of these axes on the face of each brick depends on the brick type and the node connection order. See Brick Elements: Local Axes.

The magnitude of the resultant force is equal to shear stress × brick face surface area.

In nonlinear analysis, the direction of the load will always be based on the current brick face as the brick deflects and deforms.

Shear stress attributes are load case dependent.
