Plate Attributes: Face Radiation Ambient Temperature
Description
Assigns a radiation ambient temperature to surfaces of selected plate elements.
Applicable only to nonlinear heat transfer analysis.
Models uniform heat flow via radiation through the surface of the plate to or from an ambient environment. The attribute is paired with a plate face radiation coefficient attribute, which together define the heat flow rate.
Different ambient temperatures can be defined on the -z and +z surfaces.
The ambient temperature can be scaled as a function of time.
Radiation ambient temperature attributes are load case dependent.
Dialog
Value
Radiation ambient temperature on the plate surface.
Temperature vs Time table
The table that varies the ambient temperature as a function of time.
Applicable only to the transient heat solver.
Surface
The surface on which the attribute is applied.
-
+z
Ambient temperature is on the +z surface of the plate.
-
-z
Ambient temperature is on the -z surface of the plate.
-
Both
Ambient temperature is on both surfaces of the plate.
