Plate Attributes: Face Radiation Coefficient
Description
Assigns a radiation coefficient to surfaces of selected plate elements.
Applicable only to nonlinear heat transfer analysis.
Models uniform heat flow via radiation through the surface of the plate to or from an ambient environment. The attribute is paired with a plate face radiation ambient temperature attribute, which together define the heat flow rate.
Different radiation coefficients can be defined on the -z and +z surfaces.
The coefficient can be scaled as a function of time and/or temperature.
Radiation coefficient attributes are load case dependent.

Value
Radiation coefficient of the plate surface.
Factor vs Time table
A table that scales the coefficient as a function of time.
Applicable only to the transient heat solver.
Factor vs Temperature table
A table that scales the coefficient as a function of temperature.

Surface
The surface on which the attribute is applied.
-
+z
Radiation is on the +z surface of the plate.
-
-z
Radiation is on the -z surface of the plate.
