Insert: Sector-Symmetry Link

Description

Inserts a sector-symmetry link between two nodes.

A sector-symmetry link enforces a cyclic symmetry condition between the two nodes. This condition is formulated in polar coordinates about the nominated axis, X, Y or Z, in the global coordinate system, represented as . The constraint takes the form , and , where and are the nodes on the link.

Connectivity

The connectivity of the link is defined by clicking two points in the model window. Points may be nodes, grid points or vertices. A new node is automatically inserted when a grid point or vertex is clicked.

Axis

Axis of rotation, or polar axis, of the sector-symmetry link.

May be one of the global X, Y or Z axes.

Link group

The group to which the inserted link is added. See Target group.
