Insert: Shrink Link

Description

Inserts a shrink link between two nodes.

A shrink link enforces the condition , where represents one of DX, DY or DZ and and are the two nodes.

Connectivity

The connectivity of the link is defined by clicking on two points in the model window. Points may be nodes, grid points or vertices. A new node is automatically inserted when a grid point or vertex is clicked.

Dialog

Shrink Directions (DX/DY/DZ)

Directions in which the shrink link is active, expressed in the global coordinate system.

Nonlinear Control Freedom Case

Freedom case used to specify the relative shrink amount in a load step of a nonlinear analysis. This allows for a partial or progressive shrink displacement to be enforced between the nodes, based on the factor applied to the freedom case in a load step.

Link group

The group to which the inserted link is added. See Target group.
