Results: Element Results Equations

Description

Creates and edits user-defined result equations based on various components of forces, stress and strain.

Dialog

Save equation

Accepts the equation definition and makes the equation entry available for user-defined results extraction and contouring.

Edit equation name

Opens the Equation name dialog, which allows you to change the name of a previously saved user-defined results equation. This edits the name of an existing equation without creating a new one.

Delete equation

Deletes the equation entry.

Clear equation

Clears all data in the current equation entry.

Import equation

Imports an equation from a .EQ7 equation file or .TXT text file. See File Formats: Equation File.

Export equation

Exports an equation to a .EQ7 equation file or .TXT text file. See File Formats: Equation File.

Name

The name given to the user-defined result equation entry.

The equation name is displayed on the contour legend, Results: Peek and The LISTINGS Tab.

Equation

The mathematical expression of the user-defined result equation.

Quantity

Lists the available result quantities that can be used for defining the equation.

Axis System

Lists the available axis systems that can be used for defining the equation.

Surface (plates only)

Lists the available planes from which the result quantities will be extracted.

Components

Buttons correspond to the available components that can be used for defining the equation. Button labels update to reflect the Quantity and Axis System settings.

Operators

Lists the available operators that can be used for defining the equation.

Constants

Lists the available numeric constants that can be used for defining the equation.

Functions

Lists the available functions that can be used for defining the equation. See Strand7 Interface: Entering Numeric Data and Formulas.

Angular Units

Defines the interpretation of variables for trigonometric functions. Can be either Degrees or Radians.
