Straus7 Menu: Results Open/Close
Description
Displays all result files associated with the current model, configures result file related settings, and opens a selected result file for post-processing. See Straus7 Interface: Straus7 Layout.
The Available result files window displays the solution types, file paths, names, date and time of all associated result files for the current model. Functions to relink, delete, associate and disassociate result files are also available.
The solution types and respective file extensions are as follows:
- Linear static results *.LSA
- Linear buckling results *.LBA
- Load influence results *.LIA
- Nonlinear static results *.NLA
- Quasi-static results *.QSA
- Natural frequency results *.NFA
- Harmonic response results *.HRA
- Spectral response results *.SRA
- Linear transient dynamic results *.LTA
- Nonlinear transient dynamic results *.NTA
- Steady state heat results *.SHA
- Transient heat results *.THA
When a result file is open, the model window switches to post-processing mode and functions such as VISUAL: Insert, VISUAL: Tools and The SOLVERS Tab are no longer available. By closing the results file, the model window switches back to pre-processing mode.
Files View
Open
Opens the currently highlighted result file.
Browse
Displays the Open file dialog, which allows navigation to different folders for the selection of a compatible result file. Compatible result files found by browsing are added to the file list.
Relink
Selects a folder. Compatible result files of the same name as the current model contained in the folder will be associated with the model and added to the file list.
Dismiss
Removes the currently highlighted result file from the file list. Dismissed result files are not deleted.
The Browse or Relink functions can be used to re-associate the dismissed result file with the model so that it is again included in the file list.
Delete
Deletes the currently highlighted result file along with its entry in the file list.
Options View
LINEAR BUCKLING (LBA) / NATURAL FREQUENCY (NFA)
-
Hide unconverged modes
If set, unconverged modes will not be available for post-processing.
Eigenvector not converged cases are considered as converged modes.
-
Hide negative/zero modes
If set, negative or zero modes will not be available for post-processing.
Negative buckling modes are buckling modes initiated by the reversal of loading.
Zero natural frequency modes are rigid body movements due to the lack of restraints (e.g., free floating objects).
-
Hide modes with mass participation below %
Natural frequency modes with mass participation lower than the specified value will not be available for post-processing.
SPECTRAL RESPONSE (SRA)
-
Hide modal results
If set, modal results will not be available for post-processing.
Modal results are always included in a spectral response result file. Hiding modal results for larger models with hundreds of modes allows faster switching between the SRSS and CQC result cases.
NONLINEAR STATIC (NLA) / QUASI-STATIC (QSA) / NONLINEAR TRANSIENT (NTA)
-
Hide unconverged results
If set, unconverged results will not available for post-processing.
-
Hide intermediate sub-steps
If set, sub-steps will not be available for post-processing.
